About this product

Product Information

An examination of the subconscious mind and the discrepancies between 2D and 3D worlds, Crush is a unique, story-driven puzzle game for the PSP. Players take on the role of Danny, an insomniac whose sleep disorder eventually leads him to an institution. There he comes under the care of a Freudian psychologist named Dr. Reubens and his grand device of questionable acronym, the Cognitive Regression Utilizing Psychiatric Hueristics, or C.R.U.S.H. Thus, Danny embarks on a trip inside his malfunctioning psyche to find the root of his mental malady.

The game takes on the appearance of a traditional 3D platform adventure, with Danny meandering through more than 40 levels on a search for his lost marbles. The puzzle aspect comes when his mental blocks become physical blocks that prevent advancement, at which point he must "crush" the world from 3D to 2D. This flattening of the level geometry, combined with manipulation of the game camera perspective, will open new paths that eventually allow Danny to collect enough of his marbles to advance. Strewn about each level are various objects like barrels, metal balls, and pressure switches that gamers must interact with as well as giant cockroaches, nearly invisible blocks, and alarm clocks that will yank Danny from his dream world before he has solved his problem.
