Visually similar to fellow fixed-screen platform titles BurgerTime and Space Panic, Cosmic Crisis finds gamers climbing ladders, traversing platforms, and trying to destroy alien invaders. The main character is unarmed, but he can remove bricks from platforms, lure creatures into the vacated space, and replace the bricks to send the aliens plummeting to their death. Some creatures move faster than others, and a few of the invaders only die when crushed by other falling aliens.
