In Conquest of the New World: Deluxe Edition, you control either a native civilization or one of five European countries in a battle or alliance in the Americas. Your duty is to explore new areas, establish colonies, produce and trade goods, eliminate opponents and defend your claims. The game does not depict a historically accurate scenario of what occurred in the 16th century but rather allows you to create your own new world based on events. You have a choice of controlling the native population of the New World, England, France, Holland, Portugal or Spain. A tutorial teaches you the inner workings of the game and will help on your quest. You begin by heading an English expedition to the New World. The first missions tell you how to use your ship to explore and disembark units. You learn the basics of every unit type and eventually use them to discover new landmarks scattered throughout the environment. If you select New Solitaire Game from the options screen, you can create your own parameters for the game and the world. In the multi-player game against another human, the person who starts the game sets up the parameters for the world and characters. Also, the multi-player game allows you to play against up to six other players, each representing a different group. The main mode of Conquest of the New World: Deluxe Edition is the single-player campaign in which you take on the New World as one of six cultures. In the game, you can change history for the better or worst (depending on your point of view). Make the natives rulers of the land once more or create a Spanish, French or English republic. It's up to you whether your civilization is peaceful and tolerant or aggressive and belligerent. An entire world lies in your hands - use your power wisely!
