Developed by Legacy Interactive, the company behind the Emergency Room titles, Combat Medic: Special Ops' concept is similar but features a deeper and more robust storyline dealing with potentially devastating worldwide events. Terrorist Akhmed Abdullah Zhareem has plans to release deadly biological weapons, capped off by a super flu virus.<br><br>As you work your way through the missions you'll treat more than 45 combat injuries, perform triage, earn medals, advance in rank, shoot enemies, make life-or-death battlefield decisions, coordinate medical evacuation for critically hurt soldiers, and gain intelligence for the United States government. Three characters, each with unique attributes (speed, strength, age, and background), offer diverse gameplay at three difficulty settings (novice, intermediate, and expert) based mainly on the number of hints available for treating patients and on imposed time limits.<br><br>Select from nearly two-dozen implements, ranging from simple gloves to surgical equipment, as you pack your medical kit prior to each mission. Advancement from mission to mission requires scoring at least half of the total points available for performing correct medical treatment, finishing within the time limit, and making proper evacuation decisions. The more points you earn, the more medals and badges you receive. The manual contains an extensive glossary, hints for winning strategies (e.g., don't get shot), and descriptions of all tools and character backgrounds.
