When the cane toad was imported from Hawaii into Australia to help with the Greyback beetle problem, the fellows who masterminded the experiment soon found that they had made a major mistake. While it is true that cane toads will eat the beetles, it is incredibly hard for them to catch any, seeing as the beetles can easily fly away whenever a toad approaches. So, the toads, without any natural predators quickly multiplied and have been a bane to northern Queensland ever since.
