NotesSandy Graham is one of the top Jazz singers in the country. She is a vocal stylist with a sensuous smoky voice who is a masterful storyteller. She adds subtle meanings and emotions to the lyrics she sings as they reflect her beliefs, dreams, and views of life. This CD is dedicated to her many supporters and fans she has entertained night after night in supper clubs, festivals and theaters around the world. The title tune is written by Ms.Graham who wanted to write something up-tempo that would express the feelings of most artists who want to please their audience. Almost all of the Graham family was or is musically trained. Her father, composer/musician, Garland Graham, who played clarinet and saxophones died while Sandy was in the early stages of her musical development. But because of him, she was exposed to all the great musicians and singers (i.e. Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, and Carmen McRae), at an early age. It is this early ear training from her father that has attributed to this Jazz singer's impeccable taste in material, vocal control, tonality and phrasing and that has brought about her best outing on CD to date. Sandy is what you would call a natural born singer. She will take you to wherever you want to go. Whether it's the feeling of the blues, a very romantic place or swinging high as the sky.... and you will love being there with Sandy Graham...By Request.
