First on the bill is Richard Lester's gentle western comedy BUTCH AND SUNDANCE: THE EARLY DAYS (1979), starring Tom Berenger and William Katt in the roles originated by Robert Redford and Paul Newman. As written by Allan Burns (THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW), the movie depicts the initial meeting of the two famed titular outlaws, their awkward early robberies, a secret that made them closer than brothers, and ultimately, the train heist that helped turn them into legends before their time.
