Downtown Paradise is dense and packed full of alleyways and other shortcuts. The countryside is vast, featuring winding mountain paths. If you want to beat this Xbox 360 game, you'll need to master driving in each environment. The weather will change at times, forcing you to adapt to slick roads due to rain. As you drive around Paradise, the tunes of DJ Atomica will fill your airwaves. These songs are a mix of techno, pop, rock, and rap. If you prefer to play this video game in silence or use your own music, you can turn the radio off."Burnout Paradise" collects all of the events from past games and adds a few additional elements as well. The Race mode will have you racing to a designated spot on the map. However, in this race, there is no predetermined route. You are free to take the fastest route available to defeat your opponents. Road Rage challenges you to defeat a set number of vehicles. In true "Burnout" fashion, you take down cars by slamming them off the road. At the same time, your opponents will try to crash into you. If you take enough damage, you'll be out of the race for good. The vehicles feature realistic damage models thanks to an improved physics engine. If you drive into a pole, your car will wrap around it at the point of impact. The Showtime mode requires a player to cause as much damage as possible in a set amount of time. Lastly, there are Time Trial modes, where you attempt to get the fastest time on a given street.In addition to these multiple gameplay modes, Paradise City is stuffed full of secrets. There are billboards to smash and hidden tokens to find. You'll unlock new vehicles, which then drive around the city. To add these vehicles to your collection, you must ram them off the road. There are over 70 total vehicles to unlock in this title. At any time, you can hop online to play against a global audience. This Xbox title supports up to six different players in one online session. This title is also compatible with the Xbox One.
