Bat Masterson was surely one of the most unusual lead characters of any American western program. As played by Gene Barry in the character's eponymous half-hour series - which ran from October 1958 through June 1961 - Masterson was a gambler-cum marshal who loved women and hated violence, often preferring to defend himself with a cane instead of a gun. Episodes depicted him traveling through the Old West, seeking adventure and female companionship. This box set features twelve of the most popular Season One episodes, which originally aired in late 1959 and early 1960, including DOUBLE TROUBLE IN TRINIDAD, SHARPSHOOTER, RIVER BOAT, MARKED DECK, INCIDENT IN LEADVILLE and BRUNETTE BOMBSHELL.
