The 3Com NBX V3000 enables companies to handle their phone calls and other voice communications over both a local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN). The 3Com IP telephony router can handle up to 1,500 lines or stations with optional equipment, and up to 400 hours of voicemail. In addition to both corded and cordless phones, the single-port router can also be used for fax machines and door ringers for security purposes. While the 3Com NBX V3000 router has one LAN connection, there are four analog ports to connect to the internal phone system, enabling 250 lines or stations in stock form. System administrators have the option of using the USB port for diagnostics purposes with this 3Com IP telephony router, or a browser-based utility for off-site use. In addition to Voice-over-IP services, the single-port router can also be used as a web server and email server for companies. Companies looking to scale up their system in the future should note that the 3Com IP telephony router can be rack-mounted and has a 1U form factor.
