There was padding inside the box. Despite this, I was concerned about potential damage such as that might occur when someone sat on top of it (by mistake hopefully). Thankfully, my concerns were gone upon unboxing the item. There was no visible damage marks and the board was exactly as described. It was in pristine condition.
