    Synopsis
Power's Stoicism and Performance presents Stoicism as a means of navigating key debates and concepts in contemporary theatre and performance. Stoicism has influenced many of the most cited radical thinkers in the discipline of theatre and performance studies; for instance Deleuze, Foucault, Kristeva, Agamben. A central aim of this work is to bring Stoicism more explicitly into the fold of the discipline, and to use Stoicism to think differently about performance. With a series of chapters covering themes such as performativity, embodiment, emotion, affect and spectatorship, this book finds points of encounter between Stoicism and contemporary understandings and practices of performance. It presents these encounters as modes of transformative experience in relation to our being in the world., Power's Stoicism and Performance offers new perspectives on contemporary theatre and performance debates. By introducing Stoicism as a performative philosophy that radicalises forms of thinking and experience, key themes such as performativity, embodiment, emotion, affect and spectatorship are re-examined.

Typically bungling performance from Evri (Hermes): the package was said to be ‘out for delivery’ on 2 September, but it did not arrive until 8 September, after I had expended much effort in trying to find out what had happened to it. In contrast, top marks for the seller: accurate description, excellent packaging, prompt transport from USA (until Evri got its hands on the package), and good-natured support when I explained the problems I was having with the notoriously inefficient delivery firm.

Shipping was insanely fast! Packaging super tough! Came as described and beyond the value. One of my new favorite additions to my books.
