Notes
Reissue. Tracy Nelson learned about R & B music from nighttime listening to WLAC radio in Nashville. In her teens she sang folk music in coffeehouses. In 1964, she recorded the acoustic blues album Deep Are The Roots. It was originally released on vinyl on the Prestige label. It features blues harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite as a member of her backup band. Tracy Nelson formed the group Mother Earth in the mid-60s. This group incorporated a little bit of everything, rock, soul, country, blues, psychedelic... and made numerous eclectic albums well into the 1970s.
