The prominent LCD screen, with its manual brightness control, is also well suited for in-the-field playback. You won't miss any important shots, because an indicator keeps you up-to-date on the remaining battery power and tape length. This feature is particularly important because LCD operation burns more battery power than a viewfinder - but it's still a good idea to carry a spare battery.
