Reviews
It's typical of M's scholarship that everyone interested in this area will have to rethink completely after reading English in the Middle Ages., this is a ground-breaking book ... all who read it will find much in it to increase their understanding of Middle English., I recommend this book to anyone interested in the history of English. The historical background to Henry III's letters in particular seems to have been painstakingly researched and the discussion makes for absorbing reading for the specialist and layman alike., This is an important book that breaks new ground ... rich in detail and convincing in its arguments., '... a fascinating book....an eloquent and extended reminder that there are other ways to look at the medieval writing we prize than the ways we have grown accustomed to.'

Synopsis
Alexander Grothendieck's concepts turned out to be astoundingly powerful and productive, truly revolutionizing algebraic geometry. He sketched his new theories in talks given at the Seminaire Bourbaki between 1957 and 1962. He then collected these lectures in a series of articles in Fondements de la geometrie algebrique (commonly known as FGA)., Presents an outline of Alexander Grothendieck's theories. This book discusses four main themes - descent theory, Hilbert and Quot schemes, the formal existence theorem, and the Picard scheme. It is suitable for those working in algebraic geometry., Alexander Grothendieck's concepts turned out to be astoundingly powerful and productive, truly revolutionizing algebraic geometry. He sketched his new theories in talks given at the Seminaire Bourbaki between 1957 and 1962. He then collected these lectures in a series of articles in Fondements de la geometrie algebrique (commonly known as FGA). Much of FGA is now common knowledge. However, some of it is less well known, and only a few geometers are familiar with its full scope. Thegoal of the current book, which resulted from the 2003 Advanced School in Basic Algebraic Geometry (Trieste, Italy), is to fill in the gaps in Grothendieck's very condensed outline of his theories. The four main themes discussed in the book are descent theory, Hilbert and Quot schemes, the formalexistence theorem, and the Picard scheme. The authors present complete proofs of the main results, using newer ideas to promote understanding whenever necessary, and drawing connections to later developments. With the main prerequisite being a thorough acquaintance with basic scheme theory, this book is a valuable resource for anyone working in algebraic geometry.

Great transaction, exactly as described, packed well, and promptly shipped on August 6th. Unfortunately the U.S. Postal Service took 23 calendar days to deliver the book. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe

Excellent purchase. Was able to get all three items from the one seller. Seller was able to bundle all three items together into one package. Items as described and arrived in perfect condition. Good communication around shipping and tracking as items delayed and not able to be delivered by original estimate. Thanks to shipping updates I was able to track the items arriving before the extended delivery time. Thank you for making these items available on EBay.
