Synopsis
Columbus Celebrates the Millemum showcases the variety and quality of life in this vibrant "major-league city," as well as spotlighting the events and people that helped form her foundation and shepherded her through years of growth and change. Author Mike Harden takes a look at the ever-evolving landscape of the city from its earliest days to its present status as an international hub of business, industry, and technology, and examines the economic factors that make Columbus strong. The book features scores of unique historic images from throughout the city's many generations of growth, provided by such sources as the Columbus Dispatch. Columbus Metropolitan Library, and the Columbus Museum of Art, as well as from the collection of local photographer Larry Hamill. Archival photo research was conducted by Geoff Aument, Nick Seco. Dorcen Uhas-Sauer, Ed Lentz, and Linda Deitch, with the faithful direction of the Columbus Historical Society.
