It is heavy and strong--moving the pieces required effort, but that's not a complaint! In fact, I expect it can hold up a monitor really well. The problem I had was that the plastic around the mounting point was cracked. Upon contacting the seller, they informed me that the item will still work, but offered a partial refund for the damage. I was satisfied!

Just be aware that the springs are very stiff, so you won’t be disappointed. The seller is very nice, and easy to do business with. A good price for a strong monitor stand.

The hinges are very tight but not impossible to maneuver; they are riveted together so I see no way to adjust the tension. Has little rubber feet on the bottom so it's safe to set anywhere without scratching up surfaces. VESA mounting screws were included.
