They are normally supplied with backup NICAD backup batteries but in this example they have been removed and it looks like it was done a long time ago. It is not an issue to me as I change them anyway, but it might help future buyers if a photo of the circuit board could be included in the description. Thanks again. I am very happy with this purchase.
