    Well - it acts like a fuse - that if needed burns up and saves the expensive stuff, so since it has not had to do that yet, I'm not sure how well it will do. But, it was easy to install and appears to have the same varistor/thermistor in it that are soldered inside the furnace motor's printed circuit/rectifier board mounted on the back of the electric motor (difficult to get to & replace) that turns the big fan - so I like the idea. The D.C. motor is big bucks.
