We found this in a closet, wrapped up like a diamond. It had obviously been there for many, many years. This has seen plenty of use and has the wear you would expect of a much-travelled instrument. We love the notes and writing on the banjolin and the case, most of which appears to be from 1923 to about 1927, although some could be earlier or a bit later. This instrument tells us it has travelled from Asbury Park, New Jersey to Long Beach, California... which is where we got it. Check out the photos to see the wonderful old notes and personality that comes along with this great old piece. As you can see, if you actually want to use this instrument it will need a good restoration and all components checked and reworked as needed... but the look is great. It seems tight and strong and I see no structural issues, but lots of cosmetic ones. The case is quite worn and has a tear shown in my last photo. Check photos carefully so you see it all!”
