Synopsis
Mostly forgotten today, Henri Falk was a comedy writer who, not unlike Thorne Smith in America, penned several sardonically humorous speculative fiction stories, three of which have been translated and collected here for the first time. In 'The Age of Lead' (1922), the Sun's increased emission of gamma rays cause a universal scourge, the only remedy of which is lead, which suddenly becomes more valuable than gold. 'Master of the Three States' (1911) tells of a scientist who creates a machine that can transform the human body into a liquid or a gas. In 'The Astonishing Adventure of Sebastian Phlipot' (1917), a magician transfers a man's ability to sense pain or pleasure into a small figurine. Brian M. Stableford has been a professional writer since 1965. He has published more than 60 science fiction and fantasy novels, as well as several authoritative non-fiction books. He is also translating the works of Paul F val and other French writers of the fantastique for Black Coat Press.

Judging from my experience I fully recognize the 100% score attributed to this seller. The ordered books came neatly wrapped and in the condition described/depictured. Communication about the shipping process was impeccable and the shipping time was much shorter than the time estimated. The only downside are the above average costs of shipping but that can't be helped, Overall: excellent! Thanks from a happy customer.

This is my second purchase from this seller and I have been nothing but pleased. First of all if you order more than one item (paperback books in my case) the seller insures you are paying shipping for a single package (if they all fit in a single package of course). Better yet, the books arrived well packaged, as described and in individual protective bags with card stock as backing. Materials arrived before the expected date (I saw somewhere). Both books were in great condition! Great value!

Quick shipping. Packaging was solid. Sandwiched between cardboard pieces and packaged in a padded envelope. The book was even better than described. Great value for what was spent.
