Medullary rays east to west, north and south. Split billet cut. A little bit of curls, a little bit of "hazelfichte" (or bearclaw, as we non-Germans call it) and when you tap on it, it starts singing like Celine Dion - long, powerful, sustaining notes. It makes Tibetan singing bowls jealous. As is always true with wood from Aaron Hix, it is well dried and well cut and well packaged. Perfect!
