Although there was sufficient packaging, it had not been packed particularly efficiently, allowing the item to move around within the box. As a consequence of this, the bottom of the door handle had become detached from the door. Luckily, as far as I can tell there is no other damage. The door handle was repaired with a spot of superglue. The item itself is in good condition and appears to function as it should. Be warned, these are VERY heavy!
