The router specifications include a speed of 10/100Mbps, ports that include 1 Wide Area Network port and 4 Local Area Network ports, power, Ethernet and Internet LEDs, and advanced security management function for port filtering, MAC IP address filtering and DMZ hosting. The system features Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol support, Network Address Translation support, full duplex capability, firewall protection, switching, and uplink. Administrators can block specific users’ Internet access, so you can limit your child’s use to certain times or prevent their access, if needed. The BEFSR41 wireless router supports Universal Plug and Play for easy setup and configuration and is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Macintosh OS X, Linux, Android based systems, and all modern operating systems with a web browser. This gives users the ability to administer and upgrade the router remotely on any computer connected to the Internet. It is also compatible with all standard Internet applications. The 4-port switch speeds up connections for gaming and multimedia streaming. Additionally, there is a firewall to protect your computer and network from intruders. The product comes with a default password; during set up, you select a password to protect your network. Setting up your own home network has never been easier or more affordable. There are several advantages to using a router to set up the network, including sharing cable/Digital Subscriber Line access for your computers and connecting smartphones and mobile devices at home to reduce data usage and save money.
