They resist scratching and wear quite well even with reels I have that have metal hubs in addition to the metal flanges. The picture represents the color of the red anodizing very well. It's a deeper red, not a bright red. Do take note that they're built on Revox-type adapters which might not be 100% replacement of a different brand's adapter (Thinking of TEAC's metal/plastic reel spacer plate which is not present on Revox).
