    Some printers use dye for colors and pigment for black as mine did. Check your printer black ink style. My Canon pigment 3500 series uses black pigment and dye for colors. So black wipes off and makes a mess. Those is not the case on matte paper, only glossy paper. In image glossy paper using pigment ink is on left, it's messy and black wipes off. On right is same using pigment ink on matte paper. It doesn't wipe off and is waterproof.
