With speedy signal acquisition and 10Hz position updates, this SkyPro receiver is ideal for pilots, race car drivers, and boaters. It includes high-sensitivity WAAS GPS technology for accuracy and offers automatic route recording. It can be connected to up to five Bluetooth devices and is compatible with both GPS and GLONASS systems. Setup is simple. All you need to do is pair your chosen tablet with the XGPS160. The connection is made automatically, and it can then be used with hundreds of apps that need location data. The charger gives you 10 hours of use and fully recharged with a USB cable and charge port or in a cigarette lighter with the 12-28VDC adapter. It will have a full charge in two and a half hours.With the XGPS160, you can add GPS to your iPad, iPad 2, iPod touch, iPhone, and any other Bluetooth-enabled smartphones, laptops, and tablets without hard wiring. It has a Mode Switch feature switch that's compatible with Apple mobile devices on the right-hand side. You can simply switch it to the left for all of your other devices. The battery level indicator, power on and off, Bluetooth status indicator, and GPS status indicator are all on the front of the receiver. The Dual Status Tool app comes with this GPS system as well. It is one of the free accessories to download from the iTunes store and is a utility app that works well with the Universal Bluetooth Receiver from Dual Electronics. Installation of this app is optional and you don't need to install it in order to make it work with your compatible device. However, this app is a handy tool that shows detailed information from your receiver such as current location or whether the device is calculating your location. This function will tell you how many satellites the device has picked up and the signal strength of these satellites. It will also show you the battery level of the receiver and whether or not it is charging. This XGPS160 is 2.2 inches by 0.8 inches by 2.2 inches and weighs one pound, so it's very light and compact. It also includes a non-slip pad that's useful for car and boat navigation. This pad will stick securely to most surfaces and can be attached to walls, windows, and any other vertical surfaces easily. Its dual-piece strap makes for a handy armband as well as a way to secure the receiver to your backpack strap for all your outdoor activities. This quality XGPS160 is water-resistant and can withstand light splashes when seated properly into its pad. It has a 65-channel SkyTraq GPS chipset and fast acquisition times of under 30 seconds whether it is warm or cold. The XGPS160 has regular position updates, at least once per second, and a Bluetooth range of 33 feet. It can operate in temperatures ranging from 14 degrees to 140 degrees, so it is reliable under most outdoor weather conditions.
