The Pokemon Ruby Version marks the shift to the third generation of games dedicated to the creatures that peacefully coexist with humans, but not with each other. The aim of this Game Boy Advance video game is to train the creatures to fight each other. The basics of this role-playing game are the same: overhead perspective, turn-based battles, and a long journey to collect all Pokemon and evolve them until the collection is complete. In Pokemon Ruby Version, the collectable creatures have reached 350 units. When the player's set is at a certain level, he or she can challenge the town's gym leader and attempt to gain a badge. The protagonist who has gathered all the badges available in this Game Boy Advance video game is proclaimed Pokemon Master. This role-playing game also offers many other ways to explore, including beauty contests as well as other mini games that can be played solo or with up to three other players. However, the most important enhancement of Pokemon Ruby Version is the introduction of double battles in which the opposing parties each use two Pokemon at the same time.
