As it was described , it has scratches but nothing deep, and I will have it painted black for a project. The base come in a quite light carton box, with some paper for protection. I would advise packing these things in a heavier way for shipping, as they are hard but fragile and can break. In the complex, very satisfied for the great item and the great price!
