In regards to your concern, the only way to maintain the integrity of the steel is to keep it packaged in the original packing grease. As Clearly stated on our listing, this bayonet comes greased as you received it : "THE CONDITION OF THE ITEM IS GOOD AND LIGHTLY TO FAIRLY USED, COVERED IN OIL AND GREASE.” Although The packing grease is easily removable with any solvent, it is not recommended. The appearance of the beret was extremely clean, crisp and as the picture showed. Overall . . . it was well worth the it on every point. I have been a customer of Hero Outdoors several times, and they are an AWSOME SELLER and Company. I VERY strongly recommend them as a go to for air soft, outdoors and military items. These guys ROCK!!!!!!
