I believe it could scratch the surface as the bristles are nylon and do not feel soft on the skin. Therefore, I would use it to dust other items where it's hard to reach and doesn't matter about scratches. I was thinking things like fans need dusted, but you would normally need to take them apart. Not with this brush though.
