With a nod to high-profile titles such as the GameCube's Wave Race: Blue Storm and PS2's original Splashdown, Global Star prepares Xbox gamers to Carve through the briny blue in this value-minded release. Built by U.K.-based veteran developer Argonaut (Star Fox, I-Ninja), this game saddles players on a souped-up watercraft as part of a team of racers working together to conquer the worldwide circuit. Players choose one of eight exaggerated extreme sports-style characters; four men and four women are available. The game's 27 courses include races through European canal systems, down the twists and waterfalls of American rivers, across the Arctic, and a final challenge in a run known as "Steel Ocean." Multiplayer racing is supported through Xbox Live for up to eight competitors.
