You can definitely see the rough stone specs on the gem which means the gem wasn't cut small enough to remove the grit. So it's obviously a surface cut gem. Either way, even with its imperfects it's very pretty. Just wish it wasn't loose in the setting.. it's going to cost 15-20$ just to have it reseated..
