She must struggle to have courage and faith in herself and the unknown as she hopes for love. David, clipper ship captain and owner of Thornton & Company of Boston, has been assigned by his beloved grandfather to sail to England and look in on Amelia, the granddaughter of Lilly, his grandfather's old friend. Little did David know, that this mission would make him wonder what is really important, the sea or love. Book Club/Study Group questions at the end of the book aid readers in exploring the depths of meaning in this highly enjoyable read. The author has also included her poem, I Am My Mother, which is featured in the anthology, Late Peaches.
