The ends that hook into the choke/throttle valve were made 180 degrees off from the needed angle to attach them. No amount of forcing them was going to get them into the holes. The control box wouldn't snap into the dash, 2 of the 4 edges were squared, the dash radii, and the locking tabs positioned to high, so even fully depressed into the dash, no lock into place. It was returnable, and the return request handled promptly without issue.
