It's a darker purple with seeming flaws. At first I was a bit upset at the quality of the stone. But then the the opalescent was quite appealing. The line that looks like a crack follows the edge and the bottom. The top has interesting lines. I love that the stone is a real purple! Pretty sharp rays, but not a strong appearing star with a flashlight. The big ring size is a huge negative factor.
