She told me no smell and item had never been washed as it is new. When I received the item there was no question that it was NOT new. Smelled of detergent which was quite strong. I sent a message to seller about this & her reply included, "An upside I would say is that they were purchased at a steal. Thank you again for your purchase!" Luckily I was able to get all $ & shipping back due to eBay policy.
