Product Information

Space Battle puts you in control of three color-coded squadrons in charge of protecting the Mother Ship. As five alien squadrons close in fast, you'll need to check the radar and plan your strategy. Choose which squadrons to send after which aliens or keep them all close to the Mother Ship and wait for the aliens to come to you. <br><br>As you advance toward the enemy, a battle will occur when you are in range. At this point the screen switches to a first-person view. Using the control disc to guide a gunsight, you must aim at the alien ships and blow them away. When you fire, two missiles converge at the point covered by the gunsight. In two-player mode, one player controls the disc and the other fires missiles.<br><br>You can play Space Battle at five different speeds: Beginning, Medium, Fast, Advanced and Super Advanced.<br><br>Mattel introduced the original version of Space Battle in 1979 as part of their Action Network series of games. It was packaged in a red box. Later the same year, when the game was deemed too easy by consumers, Mattel adjusted the difficulty level, then re-released the game in a blue box as part of their Space Action Network.
