Notes
The Brombies are a bluegrass band led by Jo Ellen & George Doering who've been making music together since they met and married over 27 years ago. Jo Ellen & George formed their first band in 1989. Although the band members and the instruments have changed over the years, for the past few years Jo Ellen & George feel very fortunate to be playing with two of the best bluegrass musicians in the field. With Bill Bryson on bass & vocals, with Patrick Sauber on banjo & vocals, Jo Ellen on guitar & vocals and George on mandolin & vocals they've finally found the magic combination they were looking for. The band places a lot of emphasis on their vocals & harmonies and presenting their original bluegrass songs along with the traditional music of 'the Masters'. They all feel that music can be a major contribution of positive energy in our world and it's gotta be fun or 'forget about it!' In fact, many people comment that their shows are very fun and inspiring to watch and be a part of. Although The Brombies might be considered a new bluegrass, their collective experience and musicianship far exceeds the boundries of a new band. By the way, The Brombies are the wild horses that roam the outback of Australia, brought there by Jack Brumby, the man from Snowy River. George and Jo Ellen didn't know they'd spelled it wrong until it was too late to change it.

- 0***e (192)- Feedback left by buyer.Past yearVerified purchaseMedia mail, but the delivery was quick; packaging was great, compact box, protective padding within, the book was as stated. Hadn't heard of book; am a fan of the story of Lou Gehrig's short life & illness, & of the film, Pride of the Yankees; looked up his wife, Eleanor Gehrig, ordered the book, read the first chapter & the 7th, No Place to Hide, her life before leading up to the start of the Great Depression. Reads very well, to me, the story, the history, my own family stories on my mind; A+My Luke and I Eleanor Gehrig Joseph Durso (1977, 1st Printing, PB) Used (4034) (#256237572598)
