I have concluded that probably it has the wrong power supply or possibly the power jack on the machine itself isn't working. It did come with batteries included at 100% power. I'm watching closely the battery drainage which seem to be excessive. It's a good thing to be able to adjust the low battery warning and it also has a battery level indicator that tells you how much battery power is left.
