I needed the tires for this weekend, thought I picked the most reputable seller to deliver. Offered to return and refund. Stood on DOT guidelines being 5 years, yet were unwilling to agree that with their stance, I only had 60 percent tire life left with a new product that is already 2 years old. That makes them 18 months old. Dot standards say tires are new for 5 years when stored correctly. Metezler says they have a 10-year shelf life. 18-month-old is very normal for a new tire. Metzler only produces every 6-8 months. They then spend 1-2 moths shipping into the USA, then the distributor holds them. Then we purchase them from the distributor and then offer them up for sale to you. The newest tires you will see are 10 months old.
