Some baseplates are improperly clocked and Pertronix couldn't help me when I called the tech line. They asked me to report back with my findings and the solution so they could look into it. I had to rotate the base plate counter-clockwise and re-drill it to get the pickup trigger phased correctly with the rotor and cap. The car runs great now but it was a challenge getting there.
