I need a remote switch to give me a momentary closure on a gate control system. The switch clicks but the momentary closure doesn’t happen. I know the gate control system works because I can jumper it with a jumper wire momentarily and the gate will open or close. Did I order the wrong switch?

switch clicks meaning the switch is working, this switch is used to turn on and off a device, not to control a motorized device. by using it in the wrong application, it can either short or burn the switch circuit out.
