." . . with clear, informative pictures - lively texts that invite repeated reading. . ." -- Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books "[The Nature Babies series] pairs excellent-quality, never-before-published photos with simple texts. . .focuses on the animals' daily lives, habitat, diet, and, in particular, their relationship with their mother, which is charmingly portrayed. . ..Appealing and useful additions." -- School Library Journal, "Crisp, telephoto views of leatherback sea turtles illustrate every page in this small, slim entry in the Nature Babies series. The detailed text helps kids further visualize the animals. . . the vivid pictures and facts, bolstered by an appended "Did You Know?" section, will easily spark children's interest in these unusual, endangered creatures." -- "Booklist" "Lang and Lynch have once again combined amazing photos and biologically accurate text to create a book that is both visually appealing and accessible to young readers. In clear, concise language, the author describes a mother leatherback sea turtle as she comes ashore on a Caribbean beach late one night to lay her eggs. The informative text delineates the many dangers that imperil the eggs and later the hatchlings as they struggle to survive against incredible odds. "Did you know?" sections provide interesting facts for beginning researchers. . . This book will fill a niche and make an excellent addition to both school and public libraries." --" School Library Journal" ." . . with clear, informative pictures. . . lively texts that invite repeated reading. . ." -- "Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books", "Crisp, telephoto views of leatherback sea turtles illustrate every page in this small, slim entry in the Nature Babies series. - g***i (808)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseAs described. Very cute. Prompt delivery; well packaged Good seller; would buy again Thanks!
- r***a (87)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseThe item was shipped fast, and arrived in decent condition luckily. Would be a five star review if this thing has been packaged with any care at all. Nearly 100 dollar item just thrown in a bag with absolutely no protection. It arrived OK, but clearly took some dings in transit that were totally unnecessary. Had I known I would have sent a private message offering to pay for better packing.
