However it was not mentioned in the description that clock will take three batteries and light up all night long with a bright purple light as bight as a night light. Most of the Rhythm clocks take one battery and have a press button to light up time as needed. I took out two batteries so there is no nightlight but it keeps time with one battery and I don't have a bright purple light on this way. I took off a star for that annoying nightlight on 100% of the time.
