Synopsis
Like an alchemist, Tennessee would dip his pen in reality and make fiction out of it. This journey through his life focuses on the influence of specific people and places on selected works., Adapted and expanded from the widely successful lecture created by Augustin J Correro for the annual Tennessee Williams Festival in New Orleans, these fascinating behind-the-curtain tidbits that created the man the world knows, along with the characters he created, are doled out generously in this informative and entertaining look at a cultural icon. Correro is a theatrical director, producer, and educator based in New Orleans. He is a founding co-artistic director of the Tennessee Williams Theatre Company of New Orleans and served as a director for many of its productions, including The Glass Menagerie, Kingdom of Earth, Suddenly Last Summer, The Rose Tattoo, and Camino Real. He earned his MFA in theatre pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University and his BA in theatre from Mississippi University for Women. He has been an avid student of Tennessee Williams for most of his life. Book jacket.
