Although the Apple G5 Power Mac motherboard is a dual-processor logic board, it also works with only one processor. CPUs installed in the Apple 820-1592-A can be either dual- or quad-core. Overall, this motherboard has many options when it comes to processors, making it a versatile choice. When the logic board is first installed, it requires thermal calibration so it can use the cooling systems properly and prevent overheating. Thermal calibration on this dual-CPU motherboard is done with a special calibration DVD. A heatsink and fan can also be included in the motherboard’s structure. The Apple G5 Power Mac motherboard weighs 6 lbs.
