It's incredibly heavy because of the iron frame and you need a drill for the board. I did not have pre-drill holes. The material sheds if you move it around too much. If you need a trunk, get something else. Absolutely not worth the cost.

I noticed this too, but did not find it unpleasant and it does dissipate over time. Functional and reasonably spacious unit. I'm using it to store extra blankets.
