You can also snag deals...I recently bought a series of 55mm sized filters, NDs, Polarizers, etc. for CHEAP....because they are an unpopular size. I then used a 55 to 52 ring, and use it on my 24, 50, 105mm lenses, all of which take a 52 filter thread.
