    I did not know that this was a two part connection until I opened this up and the other part dropped out with the holding clip completely parted/broken (what a flimsy original). Now I understand you had on pictures the two parts that seemed longer, but it was actually the two parts. I managed to open, disassemble, replace, reassemble and powered on to find out it really worked. Thank you very much and hope all DS510 users understand this.

    The DS-510 parts arrived today. I installed them and the scanner is working again perfectly! The roller replacement parts are a bit different than the originals, and appear to be stronger where is counts, so less likely to fail later on!
